Patient: 58-year-old woman with multiple sclerosis
Chief Complaint: Asymptomatic
Dental History: The patient had a history of generalized periodontal disease, root abrasion, and TMJ disease. She was referred for an evaluation of the lower mandibular left central incisor (#24), which showed a root radiolucency noted on her radiograph taken at a cleaning. This defect was not observable on the previous radiographs taken by her dentist and was presumed to have developed within the last 2 years. She was wheelchair-bound and not ambulatory.
