Is pulp capping more predictable than quality endodontic therapy?
Patient: 51 year-old female (1999 when treated), excellent health
Chief Complaint: Asymptomatic
Dental History: The patient’s dentist referred the patient for consultation after a pulp exposure during caries control and a crown preparation. The patient had a history of numerous crowns and fillings.
Significant Findings: The patient presented with an exposure of the mesial chamber pulp horn. A normal response to cold thermal stimulation was noted. A 4mm sulcular defect was noted at the MB line angle. All other clinical and radiographic findings were within normal limits.
