Implant planning and placement has undergone significant technological advancements the past decade. Dynamic computer navigation is a new exciting option available to replace traditionally fabricated surgical guides. This live-stream demonstration will highlight the placement of an implant with the aid of an intraoral scanner, transferring the necessary restorative information to the CBCT plan, the detailed decision-making process of choosing the implant type/size, and the strategy of positioning. Drs. Marc Bienstock, David Hall, and Samantha Jones will interactively discuss the planning and procedure as it is being performed. Multiple high resolution views of the procedure will be shown including radiographs, X-Nav screen display, and clinical views of the procedure. Dr. Terry Pannkuk will moderate.

Biography
Dr. Marc Bienstock was born in Albuquerque, NM and raised in Waterford, Connecticut. He moved to Santa Barbara with his wife and 2 children in 2003 after completing his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in NYC. Dr. Bienstock received his undergraduate BS from Union College, graduating with honors in biology in 1993. He then received a Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Columbia University in 1997, followed by a Doctorate in Medicine from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 2000. Dr. Bienstock is a diplomate of the board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and belongs to a number of organizations including AAOMS, CALOMS, and the ADA. He has devoted his professional career to include all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery,with specializations in office based oral surgery, anesthesia, facial trauma, maxillofacial reconstruction, dental implants, bone grafting, and BMP (bone morphogenic protein). Due to the complex nature of dental rehabilitation utilizing dental implants, Dr. Bienstock remains on the cutting edge of technology. He is involved in multiple implant study groups, where he lectures and is the surgical consultant in the treatment planning process. Interdisciplinary communication is paramount for exceptional functional and esthetic results and Dr. Bienstock values the input and expertise of everyone involved in the implant team. In addition, Dr Bienstock continues to keep abreast of the latest developments in his specialty by continuously exceeding the continuing education requirements of California. His hobbies include skiing, snowboarding, cycling, and hiking.

Biography
Dr. David C Hall is a diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as the American Board of Dental Anesthesia. He has devoted his professional career to all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery including anesthesia, facial trauma and reconstruction, bone grafting and extraction of teeth. He has a special interest and training in dental implants to rehabilitate patients function and provide a pleasing esthetic result. He keeps abreast with all the latest developments in his field both by lecturing, study clubs and attending continuing education courses. He is a member of many professional societies including The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Society of Anesthesia, and The Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Hall was born in Santa Barbara and grew up in Bakersfield, California. After earning a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry, he attended UCLA school of Dentistry. After graduating dental school, he completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University Medical Center. In 2002 he returned to Santa Barbara to join the practice of Dr. Tamborello and Dr Arnett. Outside of the office he enjoys scuba diving, fishing, surfing and golf. He is also an avid swimmer and runner. Though he enjoys his hobbies and practice, his favorite time is spent with his wife Jennifer and their two young daughters.
Biography
Dr. Samantha Jones was born in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and grew up in Fairfield, Connecticut. She attended the highly regarded Middlebury College in Vermont where she received her Bachelors degree in Biochemistry and Spanish. Immediately following college, she spent two and a half years in a rural Ecuadorian community as a volunteer health promoter with the Peace Corps. While there, she had the opportunity to be involved with the oral and maxillofacial surgeons performing corrective cleft palate surgeries. This provided the impetus for her to set her sights on making oral surgery her career. Upon her return to the United States, she attended UCLA School of Dentistry, and then continued her residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at UCLA as well as completing her M.D. at the UCLA David Geffen School of medicine. Her residency was characterized by her friendly, comforting manner, and exceptionally tidy surgery skills; integral parts of her personal commitment to optimum patient comfort and results. She continuing her commitment to education as a volunteer lecturer for UCLA oral and maxillofacial surgery department. She loves hiking and stand-up paddling, along with basically anything that involves being surrounded by sun, nature, and being with her husband, Joshua, an Aussie musician. Shes very happy to now have the pleasure of living in Santa Barbara and practicing with us. We look forward to introducing her to you!
